Subject: New Water Issues References

While we have not experienced a drought this summer in most of New England, it is clear that water protection and conservation must continue to remain high on the priority list of all turf and grounds managers. To this end we want to let you know about two new publications:

The United States Golf Association’s Turfgrass and Environmental Research Online July 1, 2008 issue (vol.7, #13) addresses water issues facing the turfgrass industry. It can be found at and downloaded from: http://usgatero.msu.edu/v07/n13.pdf

In addition, this USGA report references a new special publication from the Council for Agricultural Science and Technology, Water Quality and Quantity Issues for Turfgrasses in Urban Landscapes. More information on this publication including ordering information can be found at the CAST website: http://www.cast-science.org/.
